About this website

Do you want to learn more about mental health? Are you experiencing anxiety and need to breathe? The focus of this website is to provide:

- information on mental illnesses and such related topics
- strategies to cope with mental conflict

- or even a place to release your emotions!

What is the reason behind that? Why did you create this website if this information is easily accessible on Google?

As a student, we all get projects from time to time. This is what I decided to do.

I created this page to spread awareness on mental health for those who are suffering from mental health related factors as well as provide support. As one myself, I recognize that it is hard to feel like you are understood at times. Mental well-being is just as important as the physical because they link together and I feel more people need to acknowledge that. People with mental health problems have an increased chance of developing a preventable disease or illness, such as how matters of physical health problems can hinder a person's mental well being. Although, that is the case if the condition isn't treated or managed.

Collecting and combining information from various sources and putting it all into one place gives an easier way to those who want to access this info. Although there are many other websites like this, I am hoping to connect further into mental health and dive deeper through researching and connecting with others through this site. This also gives you a place to talk about how you feel, if you need to get something off your chest. Maybe you had a bad day and wanted to talk about it. Or, perhaps you were reading a blog post and you decided to elaborate the emotions you felt absorbing the information.

What is mental health?
Mental health refers to the state of your well being, how you think, feel, and act. A mental health concern turns into a mental illness when it affects your ability to function, like your thought process, , emotions, behavior, etc.. Or even a combination of those. These illnesses can affect your daily life if left untreated, such as:

- Social interactions with others
- The ability to work and/or learn
- Ability to care for others and/or yourself
- Physical health (Restlessness, fatigue, headaches, weight gain/loss, etc..)

Unlike physical illness, most mental health issues are not outwardly presented. Although there may not be visual signs, mental health should be treated the same as any other illness. Why? — Mental health and physical health go hand in hand.

People with mental health problems have an increased chance of developing a preventable disease or illness, such as how matters of physical health problems can hinder a person's mental well being. Although, that is the case if the condition isn't treated or managed.

Treatments for mental health problems

Therapy and/or medications are common ways to treat mental illness. Although, treatments vary between the different types of mental illnesses and the severity of them. If the therapy and medications do not seem to work, doctors may result to brain stimulation which includes:

- Stimulating the vagus nerve

- Electroshock therapy

- Deep brain stimulation

A psychiatric facility can also care for patients who cannot care for themselves or at risk of harming themselves/others.

Rehabilitation may occur for those with substance abuse if the user is unable to manage.
